Shaili Chopra : Indian Business journalist and entrepreneur


Shaili Chopra is born on 21 July 1981 in Jalandhar, Punjab. She is an Indian Business journalist and an entrepreneur. She has worked with the business news channel like NDTV- Profit and ETNOW. Shaili  is extremely talented. Her father is a retired fighter pilot from the Indian Air Force. She finished her graduation from the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, New Delhi. She pursued her masters from the Asian College of journalism, Chennai. She is a very smart woman and she knows her business very well. She married Shivnath Thakural who is the managing director of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace of the India center. He was earlier the Group business editor at the NDTV and was a renowned journalist.




Shaili  started her journalism career with NDTV 24×7 as Markets and Corporate Affairs Editor. She then worked with NDTV profits as the senior news editor for the corporate section for about five years. She later joined ET Now and worked there for three years. Shaili has also covered a lot of International events like WEF@Davos, Bretton, G-20, Woods Conference and many more events. The Impact Magazine also named her as one of the most influential women in the field of marketing and advertising. Shaili  along with her husband Shivnath Thakur has also reported during the 26/11 terror attacks at the Taj Mahal hotel. She has currently quit the journalism profession and has become an entrepreneur. She has won several awards in her career. Few to name are Best English Reporter across India in the year 2007. She also won the best business anchor award in the year 2010, which was presented to her by the FICCI woman’s achiever award. She was also awarded the Ramnath Goenka Award for her excellence in the business journalism field.
Shaili  apart from anchoring the news channel has also hosted a show called ‘Tee Time With Shaili’. The show was on Golf and it was loved by a lot of people. Her show also won the best show award in the year 2008.
